ARTIST BIO JEREMY FRUGE & THE ZYDECO HOTBOYZ For Jeremy Fruge, Zydeco isn’t simply a genre of music - it’s been part of his life for nearly as long as he can remember. Jeremy picked up the accordion at just five years old, beginning a musical journey deeply connected to Louisiana’s Zydeco tradition. By age 10, he had already formed his own band, Jeremy Fruge & The Zydeco Hotboyz. What began with a young accordion player and a passion for the music has grown into a career spanning nearly three decades. Today, Jeremy is an accordionist, vocalist, songwriter, recording artist and bandleader whose sound blends the foundation of Louisiana Zydeco with elements of R&B, Southern soul and contemporary music. Throughout his career, Jeremy has performed with major artists in the genre including Chris Ardoin, J Paul Jr., and Lil’ Nathan & The Zydeco Big Timers. His willingness to take Zydeco beyond traditional boundaries also led to a collaboration with Baton Rouge rapper Fredo Bang on “Love Faces,” bringing two sides of Louisiana music together on one record. At the heart of Jeremy Fruge & The Zydeco Hotboyz is the live show. Driven by accordion, rubboard, hard-hitting rhythms and vocals, the band delivers a high-energy performance built around making audiences move. Jeremy continues to honor the culture that shaped him while pushing the sound forward for the next generation.
